Universal Peak Sdn. Bhd. recently welcomed the senior management team from Skipper Ltd., one of the world's leading manufacturers of transmission and distribution towers, for a strategic business visit to Malaysia from 25 June to 1 July 2026.

The visit reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between both companies and highlighted their shared commitment to supporting Malaysia's expanding transmission infrastructure through advanced engineering solutions, close stakeholder engagement and strong project execution.


Strategic Business Discussions

The visit commenced with an internal business strategy meeting between Universal Peak and the Skipper delegation, led by Mr. Rangeet Rudra, Senior Manager – International Marketing (Tower Division), followed by Mr. Manindra Nath Mahakul, Associate Vice President – Tower Division.

Key discussions focused on:

  • Progress updates on the 500kV Gurun West–Gurun East transmission line project.
  • Business growth strategies and market outlook for 2026–2027.
  • Future opportunities to expand transmission tower solutions across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
  • Strengthening collaboration to better support utility and EPC customers.

These discussions reinforced the shared vision of both companies to deliver reliable, high-quality transmission infrastructure that meets Malaysia's growing energy demands.

Engagement with Industry Stakeholders

Throughout the visit, Universal Peak and Skipper conducted a series of meetings with engineering consultants, EPC contractors and project developers.

The sessions provided an opportunity to introduce Skipper's latest manufacturing capabilities, discuss emerging transmission projects and explore future collaboration opportunities.

The open exchange of technical knowledge and market insights further strengthened relationships with industry partners while demonstrating both companies' commitment to delivering innovative and dependable transmission solutions.

Supporting Malaysia's National Grid Development

A key highlight of the visit was a coordination meeting involving TNB Grid Development, Pembinaan Bukit Cheeding Sdn. Bhd., Universal Peak and Skipper.

The meeting focused on the ongoing 500kV Gurun West–Gurun East Overhead Line Project, where discussions covered project progress, delivery coordination, transmission tower production updates and alignment on upcoming project milestones.

The engagement reflected the importance of transparent communication and close collaboration among all stakeholders to support the successful delivery of one of Malaysia's key transmission infrastructure projects.
