CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor: A Behind-the-Scenes Journey

At Universal Peak, we’ve made significant strides with CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor to enhance Malaysia’s power grid. During recent factory visits, we observed the craftsmanship behind this high-performance conductor. Our first stop was PT Composite Core Indonesia in Jakarta, where we witnessed the cutting and marking of ACCC samples to meet TNB’s standards before type tests. We then visited Tenaga Cable Industries in Bangi, where we saw the stranding of the conductor’s core, highlighting the precision in integrating the carbon composite core with annealed aluminium wire. Type tests are scheduled for November at Veiki in Hungary and CTC Global in Irvine, with a pilot project launching in March 2025. The ACCC® Conductor, offering double the capacity of traditional conductors and reduced line losses, is an ideal solution for our growing energy demands. We’re excited to represent CTC Global in Malaysia and bring this innovative technology to our country. Personally, I’ve gained invaluable insights from these visits and look forward to our next steps!

Citaglobal-Reneuco consortium wins 30-year concession to power up ECRL

Citaglobal Bhd and Reneuco Bhd have jointly secured a 30-year concession from Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) to supply electricity to the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), including the development of power transmission and interconnection facilities valued at RM600 million. The consortium, with Citaglobal owning 60% and Reneuco owning 40%, aims to provide up to 100MW of renewable energy (RE) to achieve a 30% green energy mix for the ECRL network. The contract is exclusive and covers both traction and non-traction systems. However, Reneuco recently fell into PN17 status due to an external auditor's disclaimer on its financial statements, but the company claims its accounts have been reviewed independently and found to be sufficiently supported. Both companies are working towards finalizing agreements and obtaining necessary approvals to proceed with the project.
