Universal Peak Sdn Bhd orchestrated a heartwarming Iftar (Buka Puasa) gathering on March 21st, 2024, extending the spirit of Ramadan to the young children of Rumah Anak Yatim Shifa orphanage. Hosted at the enchanting Samudra Exotic River Fish Restaurant (Samudra @ Anjung Patin Ville), the event welcomed 15 children aged 7-17 alongside their dedicated caregivers. In addition, nearly 30 participants from Universal Peak Sdn Bhd graced the occasion, with the esteemed presence of Datuk Ir Raj Kumar, our founder and managing director, further embellishing the evening.
Commencing at 7:26 pm, the event commenced with a “Iftar doa” led by En Amy, our Safety Health Officer, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. The delightful feast commenced with a symbolic bite of kurma, followed by an array of delectable Malay cuisines such as (Ayam Goreng Berempah, Udang Goreng Kunyit, Sotong Sambal, Kari Kepala Ikan Tenggiri, Ikan Patin Sangkar Masak Asam Tempoyak, Sausage Cocktail, Kangkung Goreng Belacan, Timun & Sambal, Telur Dadar, Nasi Putih, Sirap Limau & Teh Tarik, Buah Potong, Aiskrim & Kuih). The rustic ambiance of the restaurant, reminiscent of traditional Malaysian Malay village settings, provided a comforting backdrop, fostering a sense of familial warmth for both guests and children alike.
Amidst the culinary indulgence, the evening was further adorned with sweet treats of ice creams and fruits, concluding the night on a delightful note. A cherished moment ensued with a collective photo session, accompanied by a heartfelt donation from Datuk Ir Raj Kumar to support the orphanage, alongside the distribution of festive Raya packets to the children, eliciting priceless smiles of joy. In reflection, the event epitomized an evening filled with gratitude, compassion, and camaraderie, enriching hearts and souls as we shared in the spirit of togetherness with the children.
