Universal Peak Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with its Principal, CTC Global Corporation, successfully organised the “The Future Sabah: Seminar on High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) Advanced ACCC® Conductor” on 25 June 2025 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The seminar brought together key stakeholders from Sabah Electricity and the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS), serving as a technical platform to share knowledge and promote the adoption of advanced transmission solutions for Sabah’s power grid development.

A key highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Ir. Ts. Racheal Lim, Chief Transmission Officer of Sabah Electricity, who provided valuable perspectives on grid modernisation strategies, including the role of HTLS conductor technologies in enhancing system capacity and reliability.

The technical sessions, led by CTC Global’s experts, covered a comprehensive range of topics related to ACCC® conductor technology, including:

  • • Technical fundamentals and performance advantages of ACCC® conductors
  • • Applications in reconductoring and new transmission line projects
  • • Compliance with ASTM B987-20 standards
  • • The InfoCore® System for core integrity verification and enhanced grid security
  • • Addressing key grid challenges such as right-of-way (ROW) constraints, environmental considerations, integration of variable renewable energy (VRE), and increasing load demand
  • In addition, industry partners contributed to the seminar through specialised presentations. RIBE Malaysia showcased installation hardware solutions compatible with the ACCC InfoCore® System, while Tenaga Cable Industries (TCI) presented insights into the local manufacturing process of ACCC conductors, including aluminium rod production, wire drawing, annealing, and stranding processes.

The seminar received strong participation and engagement from SESB engineers and industry professionals, with active discussions reflecting a growing interest in advanced conductor technologies to support grid expansion and modernisation efforts.

This collaboration highlights Universal Peak’s role as a local technical partner in supporting CTC Global’s initiatives in Malaysia, while reinforcing our shared commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and future-ready solutions for the power transmission sector.
