July 24, Kuala Lumpur – Universal Peak (UP) successfully met TNB’s rigorous standards by conducting a comprehensive Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) survey, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring the longevity and safety of essential electrical infrastructure.
This survey, conducted in collaboration with the Hungarian-based GANZ team, marks a pivotal step in advancing strategic maintenance efforts. The partnership aims to enhance the performance and reliability of critical systems across several key locations, setting the stage for further maintenance initiatives.“Our primary objective was to assess the aging GIS equipment and develop a plan for necessary periodic overhauls,” a UP spokesperson stated. “The valuable insights gathered from this survey will significantly contribute to future maintenance proposals, ensuring that our switchgear systems operate at peak efficiency while meeting safety standards.”
The extensive survey spanned multiple locations, including PMU Pantai, PMU Brickfields, PMU Shah Alam Bandar, and PMU Paroi. This initiative focused on inspecting GIS equipment that has been in service for 20 to 30 years, evaluating their current condition and identifying essential maintenance needs to maintain long-term operational reliability. The project not only underscored the importance of proactive maintenance but also opened the door to future business development opportunities with GANZ. A follow-up meeting between UP’s Managing Director, Datuk Ir. Raj Kumar, the Project Management Operations team, and GANZ representatives further solidified plans for ongoing collaboration and future projects.
